Who You Are in Private

The pious is good in public and better in private. They are the ones who wake up at night, crying,  supplicating, begging Allah for forgiveness, begging Allah for forgiveness for the Ummah.

If you are that person when you’re alone, then that is who you are. That’s why the Prophet  (ﷺ) said, “O Allah, I hope for Your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for the blinking of an eye. Correct all of my affairs for me. There is none worthy of worship but You.”

If you want to know who you are without Allah, without His love, then look at your worst moments, and if you want to know who you are with Allah, then look at your most beautiful moments.

Allah is the one who adorns you with worship. He has chosen you to be among the elements within the universe through whom He wants to be worshiped.

So do not turn your back to Him. Do not be like those who forgot Allah and so He made them forget themselves. Being close to Allah starts by being better in private.
