Three Du’as Not to Ignore

Three Du’as Not to Ignore

In a powerful hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA), the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) once ascended the minbar and said “Ameen” three times. When asked why, he explained that Jibril (AS) had made three supplications, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said Ameen to each. Among them was: “May he be humiliated, the one who reaches Ramadan and is not forgiven,” and the Prophet (ﷺ) responded, “Ameen.” Another was: “May he be humiliated, the one in whose presence your name is mentioned and he does not send blessings upon you,” and the third: “May he be humiliated, the one whose parents, one or both, reach old age, and he does not serve them and earn Paradise through them,” and to each of these, the Prophet (ﷺ) said “Ameen.” (Tirmidhi, Ahmad). This hadith serves as a stern reminder of the great opportunities for forgiveness and reward that can be lost through neglect, especially in Ramadhan, in honoring our parents, and in sending salawat upon the Prophet (ﷺ).
