Let’s Read Surah Kahf Today (Friday) — Seek Righteous Companions

One powerful lesson from Surah Al-Kahf is the importance of seeking righteous companionship.

In Ayah 28, Allah commands, “And keep yourself patient with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And do not turn your eyes away from them desiring the adornments of worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his own desire and whose affair is ever in neglect.” (Surah Kahf 18:28)

This Ayah teaches that surrounding ourselves with righteous companions who remember Allah and strive for the Hereafter is necessary to maintain our faith. It warns against prioritizing worldly status over true companionship based on piety.

The influence of friends and social circles can shape our beliefs, values, and priorities. Seeking good company helps strengthen our faith, while heedless companions can lead us away from Allah’s remembrance.

Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance. Aameen.
