Aisha Othman has carved out a distinguished career as an attorney, author, and Islamic educator. Since 2001, she has led her own firm, the Law Offices of Aisha Othman, focusing on family law, estate planning, and Islamic Wills and Trusts. A member of the California Bar Association, she is recognized for her compassionate advocacy and ability to navigate complex divorce and custody cases.
Her journey into law began with a paralegal program at a community college and ultimately led her to earn a Juris Doctor from Lincoln Law School in San Jose, California. This path was driven by a deeply personal struggle—a prolonged and painful custody battle in which she lost custody of her five young children. Her perseverance led to a successful appeal and the disqualification of a long-standing judge, marking a pivotal personal and legal victory. This experience ignited her passion to pursue law and empower other women facing similar hardships.
In addition to her legal work, Aisha is a seasoned educator and the founder of Dar An-Noor for Islamic Education and Arts Center, established in 2015. The center reflects her lifelong devotion to Islamic learning and the arts, offering programs in Qur’anic and Islamic sciences, Arabic calligraphy, and traditional Islamic art. Her efforts integrate education with community empowerment, fostering a holistic, faith-based environment rooted in knowledge, beauty, and character.
Aisha’s Islamic education is grounded in rigorous study under renowned scholars from Jordan, Yemen, and Egypt. She holds multiple ijazahs (certifications) and a high sanad (chain of transmission) in Qur’an recitation and the Ten Qira’at—an advanced discipline of Qur’anic recitation tracing back to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). She also holds formal ijazahs in several Arabic calligraphy scripts and regularly participates in prestigious international exhibitions, including the Cairo Biennial International Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition and the Al-Azhar Mosque Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition.
Since 2011, Aisha has taught Qur’an and Tajweed, the Ten Qira’at, Islamic Inheritance (Mirath), and various Islamic sciences both in-person and online. She considers this among her most meaningful contributions—nurturing spiritual growth and sacred knowledge in the community. She is a sought-after teacher and mentor, valued for her clarity, insight, and scholarly grounding. Her students span the globe, and her educational work continues to shape a new generation of Muslims striving to deepen their connection with the Qur’an and Islamic tradition.
Her diverse pursuits also extend into entrepreneurship. Aisha is the owner of Othman Bookkeeping Services and a licensed real estate broker. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Indiana University Bloomington, a Diploma in Cosmetology, and a Juris Doctor, exemplifying her academic versatility and enduring commitment to lifelong learning and service.
A prolific writer, to-date Aisha has self-published 23 books on Islamic topics. Her works are also available through Amazon and are read by audiences internationally. In addition to her books and teaching, Aisha writes daily articles on her blog, Journey2Allah.com, where she shares reflections on faith, spirituality, and personal growth. The blog reaches thousands of readers worldwide and has fostered a vibrant community committed to deepening their understanding and practice of Islam.
Dedicated to community service, she plays an active role in the Islamic Education and Arts Center, an organization devoted to preserving and promoting Islamic values, education, and cultural heritage. Looking ahead, Aisha aspires to establish a values-driven educational institution that supports families and cultivates strong moral character grounded in Islamic principles. Guided by perseverance, sincerity, and deep spiritual purpose, Aisha continues to be a force of positive change—an advocate for justice, a teacher of sacred knowledge, and a role model to individuals navigating faith, family, and modern life.
