Importance of Education
The importance of education is repeatedly emphasized in the Quran with frequent injunctions such as:
…يَرْفَعِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ دَرَجَٰتٍ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
… Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do. [Quran, Al Mujadilah 58:11]
وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا
and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.” [Quran, Ta-Ha 20:114]
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۖ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
… And fear Allah. And Allah teaches you. And Allah is Knowing of all things. [Quran, 2:282]
