About the Author

Aisha Othman has carved out a distinguished career as an attorney, mediator, author, and Islamic educator. Since 2001, she has led her own law firm, focusing on family law, estate planning, and Islamic wills and trusts. She is widely recognized for her compassionate advocacy, skill in mediation and conflict resolution, and ability to navigate complex divorce and custody matters with wisdom, balance, and care.

Her journey into law began with a paralegal program at a community college and ultimately led her to earn a Juris Doctor. This path was shaped by a deeply personal struggle—a prolonged and painful custody battle in which she lost custody of her five young children. Her perseverance led to a successful court appeal and the disqualification of a long-standing judge, marking a pivotal personal and legal victory. This experience ignited her lifelong commitment to law, mediation, and community service, empowering women and families facing similar hardships.

In addition to her legal and mediation work, Aisha is a seasoned educator and the founder of Dar An-Noor, an Islamic Education and Arts Center established in 2015. The center reflects her lifelong devotion to Islamic learning and the arts, offering programs in Qur’anic and Islamic sciences, Arabic calligraphy, and traditional Islamic art. Her work integrates education with community empowerment, fostering a holistic, faith-centered environment rooted in knowledge, beauty, reconciliation, and character.

Aisha’s Islamic education is grounded in rigorous study under renowned scholars from Jordan, Yemen, and Egypt. She holds multiple ijazahs (certifications) and a high sanad—an unbroken chain of transmission to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)—in Qur’an recitation and the Ten Qira’at, an advanced discipline of Qur’anic recitation tracing back to the Prophet. She also holds formal ijazahs in several Arabic calligraphy scripts and has participated in prestigious international exhibitions, including the Cairo Biennial International Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition and the Al-Azhar Mosque Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition.

Since 2011, Aisha has taught Qur’an and Tajweed, the Ten Qira’at, Islamic inheritance (mirath), and various Islamic sciences both in person and online. She considers this among her most meaningful contributions—nurturing spiritual growth and sacred knowledge within the community. A sought-after teacher and mentor, she is valued for her clarity, insight, and scholarly grounding, and her students span the globe.

Aisha is also a licensed real estate broker and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a diploma in Cosmetology, in addition to her Juris Doctor—reflecting her academic versatility and lifelong commitment to learning and service.

A prolific writer, Aisha has self-published more than thirty books on Islamic topics, many of which are available worldwide through Amazon. In addition to her books and teaching, she writes daily reflections on faith, spirituality, and personal growth on her blog, Journey2Allah.blogspot, which reaches thousands of readers and fosters a vibrant global community seeking closeness to Allah.

Deeply committed to community service, Aisha is dedicated to preserving and promoting Islamic values, education, reconciliation, and cultural heritage. Looking ahead, she aspires to establish a values-driven educational institution that strengthens families and cultivates moral character grounded in Islamic principles.

Guided by perseverance, sincerity, and spiritual purpose, Aisha Othman remains a force for positive change—an advocate for justice, a mediator of peace, a teacher of sacred knowledge, and a voice of hope for individuals navigating faith, family, and modern life.
